Are you worried about a job interview coming up in the next couple of days or finding out the results of an important test? It is very common to feel anxious in today’s world due the bombardment of negative news by way of social media outlets and traditional outlets such as television and radio. Lauren Thomas (2018) reported that Barnes and Nobles sales of books related to anxiety are up more than 25 percent through this past June from a year ago. Furthermore, the National prevalence data indicate that nearly 40 million people in the United States (18%) experience anxiety disorder in any given year. This is evident that we are moving toward a society, if not already, of people constantly on edge being the majority. What are the signs and symptoms of anxiety? Well they include panic, fear, not being able to stay calm, shortness of breath, heart palpitation, dry mouth and nausea. These symptoms can lead to depression so it is very important that you seek help from your support system such as a close family member, friend, coworker or a License Mental Health Counselor.
